About the role#
NVIDIA is looking for PhD interns to join the Learning and Perception research team. You will focus on embodied and agentic AI, covering areas like perception, agentic reasoning, multi-modal learning, and continual learning. Projects are matched to your specific expertise, and the team has a history of publishing internship work at top computer vision and machine learning venues.
What you'll do#
- Research, design, and implement new methods for embodied and agentic AI.
- Collaborate with a mentor and the broader research team to move ideas from early hypotheses through rigorous experimentation.
- Work with product and engineering groups to move research breakthroughs into real-world applications.
- Prototype and iterate on ideas using current hardware and infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of AI theory and practice, specifically in computer vision, LLMs, and agents.
- Proficiency in programming for rapid prototyping, such as Python or C++.
- Experience with common machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.
- A promising research track record and strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of parallel programming, such as CUDA, is helpful.

- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based in Santa Clara, California, with remote options available.
- The position is offered on a rolling basis.
- Hourly pay ranges from 38 USD to 94 USD, depending on location, degree, and experience.
