About the role#
The Engineering Lab Co-Op provides support to our R&D Lab technician team and Lab Test Engineers. You will assist in administering product performance tests, agency approval tests, and the assembly of prototype products. This is a 6-month, full-time internship running from January to June 2027 based in Anoka, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
Depending on your degree path, you will participate in rotations focused on mechanical or electrical engineering. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing technical knowledge of product construction and assembly.
- Performing product performance testing and updating standard work documentation.
- Setting up and operating lab equipment, including designing and building test fixtures.
- Generating written reports of test results.
- Gaining an understanding of agency performance testing such as UL, CSA, NEMA, and IEC.
- Developing electrical and electromechanical connection circuit diagrams.
- Maintaining data acquisition and logging systems.
- Implementing and debugging control systems for new test equipment.
- Supporting new product development Lean activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Standing as a current Junior.
- Ability to commit to a 6-month full-time internship from January to June 2027 in Anoka, MN.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A willingness to learn and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Strong work ethic and personal responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
