About the role#
As an Engineer Intern at Nucor, you will learn the responsibilities of a full-time design engineer. You will assist the Engineering Department with production-related projects. This role requires you to work on-site in Lewisville, Texas, during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze cladding for wind, snow, and live loads.
- Operate proprietary engineering software to complete design tasks.
- Collaborate with professionals to develop structural components.
- Work with cross-functional teams to fabricate products.
- Participate in team initiatives.
- Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Training or experience with statics, structural analysis, and steel design.
- Degree emphasis in Structures.
- Leadership experience within clubs or organizations.
- A recommendation from a supervisor or manager.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
