About the role#
Novelis is looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Guthrie, Kentucky for a 12-week summer program in 2027. This is a full-time, on-site role where you will report to the Process Engineering Leader. You will gain hands-on experience at our new greenfield facility while working alongside engineers and quality technicians.
What you'll do#
- Work with process engineers and quality technicians to resolve customer complaints.
- Qualify new customers and help develop processes at our new site.
- Support design of experiment (DOE) improvement projects.
- Learn about sustainability, quality, and customer satisfaction, then share these insights with operations.
- Perform internal audits of machine centers.
- Collaborate with teams in engineering, maintenance, reliability, and automation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- A desire to gain hands-on industry experience before graduation.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- An understanding of aluminum heat-treating.

- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately 12 weeks).
- Compensation: This position is paid and includes a combined housing and relocation stipend for eligible interns.
