About the role#
Novelis is seeking a Process Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer program in 2027. Reporting to the Process Engineering Leader, you will join our local team in Davenport, Iowa, to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with process engineers and quality technicians to resolve customer complaints and qualify new customers.
- Contribute to process development at our new greenfield site.
- Assist with design of experiment (DOE) improvement projects.
- Learn about sustainability, quality, and customer satisfaction, sharing your findings with operations teams.
- Conduct internal audits of machine centers to support continuous improvement.
- Partner with multi-functional groups across engineering, maintenance, reliability, and automation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting across the organization.
- Interest in gaining hands-on industry experience.
- Experience with Lean and continuous improvement is preferred.
- Knowledge of aluminum heat-treating and previous internship experience is a plus.
