Responsibilities: Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity to participate in our on-site summer internship. The team is seeking a Mechanical Technician intern that can join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and will be gain experience in Mechanical Technology in a manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine servicePerform simple machinist duties and responsibilitiesPerform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machinesRead and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceDiagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas QualificationsEnrolled in an accredited 2 year Mechanical Technology program Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduationEffective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organizationMust be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employerWhat Novelis OffersNovelis benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
