About the role#
Novelis is hiring a Mechanical Technician intern for a 10 to 12 week program during the summer of 2027. You will report to the Associate EMRA Leader at our Oswego facility. This position offers hands-on experience with mechanical technology in a manufacturing setting.
What you'll do#
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs for production equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and service on machinery.
- Complete simple machinist tasks.
- Use mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines.
- Read equipment manuals and work orders to guide your maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, and test adjustments.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Follow all safety regulations and keep work areas clean and orderly.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 2-year Mechanical Technology program.
- A desire to gain practical industry experience before you graduate.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members at all levels.
- Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.

- Pay: $23.00 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes competitive pay and a combined housing and relocation stipend for eligible interns outside the local radius.
