About the role#
Novelis is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Bay Minette facility. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work with our engineering team for approximately 12 weeks, gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will report to the Central EMRA Leader.
What you'll do#
- Manage special projects from start to finish.
- Collaborate with full-time engineers to brainstorm and analyze cost-saving projects.
- Research and gather data to complete assigned tasks.
- Investigate facility areas for potential improvements.
- Perform safety walks.
- Use CAD software, read blueprints, and utilize Microsoft Office tools.
- Present project reports to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preference for students majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
- Interest in becoming an engineering leader in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities.
- Solid business insight.
