About the role#
Novelis is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Davenport, IA for a 12-week program during the summer of 2027. You will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and gain practical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Learn about industrial machinery, mechanical power transmission systems, and pumping systems.
- Support various Mechanical or Reliability Engineering projects.
- Perform modifications to engineering drawings.
- Troubleshoot industrial equipment including furnaces, mobile equipment, and aluminum rolling lines.
- Work with staff engineers to implement maintenance and reliability standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a Junior or Senior.
- A major in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Experience with precision measuring tools like dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
