    Responsibilities: Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity to participate in our on-site summer internship. The team is seeking an Electrical Technician intern that can join the team for approximately 10 to 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and will be gain experience in Electrical Technology in an manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesShadow and assist qualified electricians performing the following:Use specialized measuring and diagnostic devices to evaluate equipmentInspect for problemsWork with wires using hand tools while handling small componentsRepair and replace defective components in motors, generators, controllers, storage batteries, switchboards, conductors, switches and varied electrical fixturesInstall, maintain and repair electrical, electromechanical, and electronic parts of machinery and equipmentPerform defensive repair and preservation of field, plant and shop for electronic and electrical systems, equipment, and devicesRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and wiring diagramsPlan and prepare work orders or instructions utilizing blueprints, sketches, and drawingsReceive training in electrical safety and other electrical/maintenance dutiesQualificationsEnrolled in an accredited 2 year Electrical Technology program Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduationEffective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organizationMust be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer Preferred QualificationsUse of basic hand toolsComputer skillsWhat Novelis OffersNovelis benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
