About the role#
Novelis is offering a 12-week, full-time Electrical Engineering internship at our manufacturing facility in Warren, Ohio. This summer 2027 position provides hands-on experience in industrial electrical, reliability, and automation engineering. You will work alongside staff engineers to gain practical knowledge of metals processing and manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Learn about industrial machinery, motor controls, and PLC systems.
- Support electrical, reliability, and automation projects.
- Create work orders and supervise maintenance tasks.
- Perform engineering drawing modifications.
- Troubleshoot industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Install a line speed sensor on the exit section.
- Create a scope of work for specific projects.
- Assist staff engineers with control plans, system testing, and machine commissioning.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- A major in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Completion of at least one PLC or programming class.
- Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A high interest in becoming an engineering leader in a manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to safe working practices.
