About the role#
Novelis is offering an Electrical Engineering Internship at our facility in Guthrie, Kentucky. This is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027. You will join our team for approximately 12 weeks, reporting to the Engineering Leader and working alongside our local engineering staff.
What you'll do#
- Learn about industrial machinery, motor controls, software programming, and PLC systems.
- Support various Electrical Engineering projects.
- Modify engineering drawings.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces.
- Assist staff engineers with control plans, system testing, and machine commissioning.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited 4-year university as a sophomore, junior, senior, or recent graduate.
- Current authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong interest in gaining hands-on industry experience.
- Familiarity with MS Office and AutoCAD products is preferred.
- A desire to learn or experience using PLC systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting tools like digital multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Preference for students majoring in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
