About the role#
The Global Automotive Technology team is looking for a co-op student to support automotive research, competitive benchmarking, and data analytics. You will work on projects involving database development, vehicle feature assessment, and lightweighting opportunity screening. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Kennesaw, Georgia, running from May 2027 through December 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research vehicle specifications, technologies, market trends, and competitive information.
- Collect and maintain structured automotive datasets from approved sources.
- Support vehicle benchmarking and lightweighting analyses across vehicle segments.
- Build tools, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel or Power BI.
- Apply statistical methods to identify trends, data gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Prepare updates and presentations for technical and business audiences.
- Work with engineering, materials, sustainability, and commercial teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, databases, or statistical tools is a plus.
- Interest in automotive technology, vehicle design, sustainability, materials, or product strategy.
- Ability to research technical information, manage large datasets, and document sources.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly.
- Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team.
