About the role#
Novelis is offering a 12-week summer 2027 internship at our facility in Uhrichsville, Ohio. This on-site role provides hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside our automation engineering team to address technical challenges and support site operations.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the automation engineering team on manufacturing projects.
- Create and maintain automation documentation, including drawings and network diagrams.
- Set up and maintain work procedures and repair processes for automation systems.
- Focus on equipment and process reliability to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Standardize work methodology within the automation environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- A proven eye for business.
- High curiosity about pursuing a career as an automation engineer in manufacturing.
- Experience with SQL programming and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Windows operating system management and configuration.
- Experience in software development using Microsoft Visual Studio and tools.
- Proficiency in C#, JSON, C++, and VB.Net.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation PLC systems.

- Location: Uhrichsville, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027 (approximately 12 weeks).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Status: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position with a combined housing and relocation stipend available for eligible out-of-state candidates.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
