About the role#
We are hiring six students to join our Snow Crew for the winter season. This is a seasonal, on-call position focused on keeping university walkways and facilities clear of snow and ice. You will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure campus remains accessible during and after snow events.
What you'll do#
- Shovel assigned areas and spread salt for ice removal during and after snow events.
- Monitor weather conditions to prepare for upcoming snow removal needs.
- Respond to tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Maintain clear communication with the Maintenance Technician via text, email, or phone.
- Work at uncommon hours as required by the weather.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at NCU.
- Residence in on-campus housing.
- Familiarity with basic snow removal practices like shoveling and salting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks.
- Willingness to work in extreme temperatures and around dust or chemicals.
Location & details#
- Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- This is an on-site, seasonal role for Winter 2027.
- Pay is $16.37 per hour.
- A year-end bonus is available if all job requirements are met throughout the season.
- Hours vary based on the number of snow events, requiring 24-7 availability.
