About the role#
This is a seasonal, on-site position for the Winter 2027 term. You will help keep campus walkways clear of snow and ice. The work is on-call, meaning you must be available for shifts outside of standard business hours during snow events. You will report to the Maintenance Grounds Technician.
What you'll do#
- Operate machinery to clear snow from campus walkways.
- Monitor weather conditions to prepare for upcoming snow events.
- Perform routine maintenance and care on the equipment you use.
- Stay in contact with the Maintenance Supervisor via text, email, or phone.
- Wear required personal protective equipment while working.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at North Central University.
- Familiarity with basic equipment operation and care.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use hand tools.
- Strong communication skills across different platforms.
- Previous experience in snow removal or equipment operation is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Schedule: Shifts occur between 4:30 PM and 8:00 AM based on snow events.
- Compensation: $17.75 per hour.
- Additional: A year-end bonus is available if all job requirements are met throughout the season. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, dust, and chemicals.
