About the role#
Nokia is looking for two students to join the Optical Network group as a Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) Test Coop. You will work on-site in Sunnyvale, California, for a four-month term from January to May 2027. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in photonic device characterization and test automation. You will contribute to prototype testing, data analysis, and hardware integration projects while working alongside our team to support high-speed photonic technology.
What you'll do#
- Develop algorithms and methodologies for next-generation transceiver PICs.
- Run various engineering and prototype tests.
- Collect and analyze test data using statistical tools.
- Create test processes and sequences for high-volume production.
- Perform hardware integration and troubleshooting.
What you'll need#
- Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (PhD candidates preferred).
- Experience with software programming and test automation.
- Proficiency in statistical data processing.
- Ability to work with test instruments, hardware, and software integration.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python.NET, or LabView.
- Familiarity with opto-electronic devices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
