Software / Hardware Engineering - Intern

About the role#

Nightwing is seeking interns for a Summer 2027 program focused on software and hardware engineering. This role is designed to expose interns to engineering challenges beyond standard academic curricula. You will work in small teams alongside mentors to analyze systems, understand their behavior, and develop or defeat advanced security techniques. Daily tasks may range from studying code disassembly to writing Python scripts to audit C++ code.

What you'll do#

• Expand your knowledge of the specific targets being researched.
• Document research results on a regular basis.
• Evaluate research findings and adjust tools and project directions accordingly.
• Productize successful research to deliver solutions to customers.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a STEM field, specifically Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related area.
• Practical experience with software programming or hardware logic circuits.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as the role necessitates the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
