About the role#
Nexus Family Healing is seeking interns for our Austin, Minnesota campus. This role provides practical experience within a trauma-informed residential facility. Interns apply classroom theory to real-world settings while fulfilling the learning objectives required by their academic institution.
What you'll do#
- Participate in orientation and onboarding to learn organizational policies, including safety and confidentiality standards.
- Maintain client and family confidentiality regarding all treatment and service information.
- Adhere to an agreed-upon schedule and demonstrate punctuality.
- Act ethically and professionally when interacting with clients, coworkers, and external contacts.
- Assist staff in physical interventions and client restraints when necessary.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted, standing for extended periods, and moving throughout the facility.
- Complete required behavior intervention training and exams.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or graduate degree program in behavioral sciences, human services, or a related field (such as Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Nursing, Public Health, or Criminal Justice).
- Completion of the required number of experience hours for your internship level.
- Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and communities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet state and company driving requirements.
- Successful completion of a DHS background check.
