About the role#
FOX44/WFFF-TV and ABC22/WVNY-TV offer a paid internship for the Fall 2026 semester through the New York State Broadcasters Association. This role provides hands-on experience within the news department by working with producers, anchors, and reporters in the studio and out in the field.
What you'll do#
- Research and write stories for news broadcasts.
- Contact sources to gather information.
- Learn to operate camera equipment and understand shot composition.
- Assist reporters in the field with gathering information for live shots.
- Coordinate interviews and attend press conferences.
- Shadow producers in the control room to learn directing and production.
- Produce a portion of a show under supervision.
- Work with anchors and reporters to craft a reel for those pursuing on-air roles.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 17 years old.
- You must be a resident of New York State or attend a school in New York State.
- Preferred majors include Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.

- This position is located in Colchester, Vermont.
- The role is on-site and part-time.
- This is a paid internship for the fall semester.
- You are responsible for your own transportation.
