Medicaid Account Management Intern

About the role#

The Medicaid Account Management Intern will join the Quality Systems Transformation practice area to support key Medicaid initiatives. This role provides exposure to healthcare policy, research, and professional communication within a consulting environment. You will work under the guidance of an assigned mentor to apply academic knowledge to real-world projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with project coordination and track deliverables.
• Prepare reports and presentations for leadership.
• Help track budgets and contract updates.
• Draft policy briefs, summaries, and one-pagers.
• Summarize key insights from Medicaid conferences and events.
• Participate in internal meetings and project planning.
• Assist with planning and implementing strategy.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited graduate degree program with a concentration in public health, public policy, public administration, or a related field.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Research and analytical abilities, including experience with information synthesis.
• Experience coordinating projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic graphic design or data visualization skills using tools like Canva or PowerPoint.
• Interest or background in healthcare, government, or policy settings.

Location & details#

• Location: Albany, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 18 – August 7).
• Modality: On-site, full-time.
• Schedule: Normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.), with flexibility available.
• Compensation: $24 per hour for graduate students.
• Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
