Business and Data Analyst Intern

About the role#

As a Business and Data Analyst Intern in the Modernization and Data Solutions practice, you will work alongside professionals to apply academic knowledge in a real-world consulting environment. This role focuses on supporting research, requirements documentation, data analysis, and reporting while refining internal tools and documentation standards.

What you'll do#

• Support the development of requirements documentation and assist with background research activities.
• Assist with data cleanup, validation, and basic analyses under team guidance.
• Help prepare dashboards and reporting materials to support project tracking and decision-making.
• Contribute to creating and refining internal templates, tools, and documentation standards.
• Participate in internal and client-facing meetings and help prepare reports and presentations.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program with a concentration in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, business analytics, information systems, or public policy.
• Basic knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and the ability to query and join datasets.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for building simple dashboards.
• Familiarity with data cleaning, transformation concepts, and relational databases.
• Introductory knowledge of Python or R for data analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and reporting.
• Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Location & details#

• Location: Albany, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 18 – August 7).
• Modality: On-site, full-time during business hours (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
• Compensation: $22 per hour for undergraduate students; $24 per hour for graduate students.
