Marketing Communications Intern

About the role#

As a Marketing Communications Intern at NYSTEC, you will join the Don Hanson Internship Program to apply your academic knowledge in a professional consulting environment. Working under the guidance of a mentor, you will contribute to the execution of marketing campaigns, assist with day-to-day departmental operations, and help improve workflow efficiency. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in business development, professional networking, and project management.

What you'll do#

• Create and edit written, visual, and multimedia content.
• Design graphics and support various media and broadcasting projects.
• Assist with website content management and internal and external communications.
• Support departmental projects through hands-on tasks.
• Participate in internal meetings and contribute to project planning.
• Learn and apply company-specific tools and processes while collaborating with partners.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program with a concentration in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Interest in writing and editing, with some familiarity with AP style.
• Comfort using social media platforms and a smartphone camera to create content.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Eagerness to learn new skills and gain hands-on experience.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and stay organized.
• A positive attitude and enthusiasm for teamwork.

Location & details#

• Location: Albany, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 18 – August 7).
• Modality: On-site, full-time (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. schedule).
• Compensation: $22 per hour for undergraduate students; $24 per hour for graduate students.
• Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
