IgniteU Intern

About the role#

The IgniteU Intern role is part of the Don Hanson Internship Program. You will work within the Strategic Partnerships practice to support research and planning efforts. This position provides the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a consulting environment while developing professional skills in business development, report writing, and project management under the guidance of a mentor.

What you'll do#

• Conduct research on funding models, organizations, and emerging topics using the internet and academic databases.
• Contribute to a quantum technology landscape study by reviewing literature and identifying key stakeholders.
• Support departmental projects by summarizing data, creating presentations, and completing hands-on tasks.
• Participate in internal and client-facing meetings to assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
• Apply NYSTEC tools and processes while collaborating with internal and external partners.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited degree program with a concentration in Business Administration, Data Science, project management, technology, or a related field.
• Basic research skills, including the ability to locate and review academic literature.
• Experience or interest in qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
• An interest in research, research administration, academic leadership, or higher education administration.
• Exceptional technical and research skills with demonstrated leadership potential.

Location & details#

• Location: Albany, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 18 – August 7).
• Modality: On-site, with typical hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
• Compensation: $22 per hour for undergraduate students; $24 per hour for graduate students.
• Note: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
