About the role#
The Loan Servicing Intern role supports the insurance team at the New York City Housing Development Corporation. You will help monitor that projects have active insurance coverage and ensure that premium invoices for escrowed projects are paid on time.
What you'll do#
- Collect evidence of insurance and premium invoices from insurance brokers and agents.
- Review and catalog insurance certificates into the KnowledgeLake system.
- Maintain and update insurance records within the Benedict database.
- Collaborate with Loan Servicing Administrators and Managing Agents to ensure ongoing insurance compliance.
- Support the team by assisting in the development of process efficiency strategies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BA or BS degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Pivot Tables.
- A basic understanding of mortgage or insurance concepts.
- Intermediate coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or public administration is preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal, New York State, and New York City affordable housing programs is a plus.
