About the role#
The Drafting Intern position is an entry-level role focused on supporting our design and engineering processes. You will follow established company standards and procedures to ensure our drawings meet quality and consistency requirements. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Create models, drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials using CAD tools.
- Develop drawings based on engineering principles and company instructions.
- Follow design, layout, and documentation best practices.
- Manage file versions and model creation according to company CAD standards.
- Generate approval prints for customer review.
- Provide project status updates to your supervisor and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High school or college entry-level education.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or Autodesk Inventor 2018 and later versions.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and G Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Ability to achieve Drafter I status within 6 months.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
