About the role#
The Internal Audit Strategic Audit Team provides independent assurance and advisory services to help manage risk across the organization. As a Summer Associate, you will join this team to work on projects that support key strategic initiatives. This is a 12-week internship program running from May 2027 through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with advisory engagements to support strategic priorities.
- Conduct research, participate in process walkthroughs, and document workflows.
- Identify key risks and controls while obtaining evidence for testing.
- Execute assigned testing and document results to support audit conclusions.
- Summarize findings and recommendations for discussion with senior team members.
- Prepare workpapers to document evaluated information.
- Use Microsoft Copilot and AI agents to enhance research, analysis, and automation.
- Manage your own workload and timelines while reporting issues to management.
- Collaborate with other Summer Associates and team members on stretch assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Familiarity with the internal audit function and processes.
- Familiarity with Copilot or other AI systems.
- Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience interpreting and applying data, guidelines, and regulations.
- Interest in risk management, audit, or enterprise governance.
Location & details#
- This role is hybrid and based in Vienna, VA, Pensacola, FL, or Winchester, VA.
- Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
