    About the role#

    The National Youth Advocate Program is looking for a Master's level intern to join the Family Preservation team in Greenville, South Carolina. This internship provides hands-on experience working with youth and families. You will also have the chance to observe other therapeutic areas within the agency to gain a broader understanding of the clients and communities we serve. This role involves working closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, and transportation.
    • Travel to provide community-based services in compliance with regulatory and contract requirements.
    • Coordinate and monitor services for youth and families, including mental, medical, educational, and social support.
    • Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure consistent progress toward goals.
    • Assist in family reunification and stabilization efforts.
    • Complete all required training and documentation in a timely manner.
    • Participate in the weekly supervision process.
    • Work toward meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Master of Social Work program where the internship is a degree requirement.
    • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
    • Prior experience working in direct service with youth and families is preferred.
    • Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
    • Capacity to remain objective, professional, flexible, and responsive.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
    • A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
