About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience working with our community-based behavioral health team in Tallmadge, Ohio. You will interact with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners while gaining insight into various therapeutic areas within the agency. This role is available for the Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services and case management.
- Coordinate and monitor mental health, medical, educational, vocational, and social services for youth and families.
- Travel to provide community-based services and assist with family reunification or stabilization efforts.
- Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
- Complete all required documentation and training in a timely manner.
- Participate in weekly supervision sessions.
- Provide transportation as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling at an accredited institution.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
- Active LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
- Must be at least 21 years of age by the start date.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and office equipment like printers and fax machines.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism.
- A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
- Internship placement must be a requirement of your academic program.
