About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship within the Engineering Lab Genomics department. You will work remotely to support our software systems and data processes.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and implement software requirements.
- Format, validate, and upload data.
- Perform database schema changes.
- Automate manual tasks by developing scripts.
- Update software code to resolve defects and improve reliability.
- Perform debugging and root cause analysis.
- Communicate with users to understand their needs.
- Develop unit tests and assist with code reviews and test automation.
- Complete mandatory training on HIPAA, PHI privacy, and security within your first 30 days.
What you'll need#
- A BS degree in Computer Science, completion of a high-quality bootcamp, or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language like JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience with SQL and MySQL administration.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- A high sense of ownership and accountability.
- A willingness to learn new skills.
- Knowledge of Google Sheets formulas and App Script is a plus.

- This role is remote within the United States.
- The internship is offered on a rolling basis.
- You must pass a post-offer criminal background check to be hired.
