About the role#
The Money Lab Intern represents the credit union by providing inclusive and accessible financial education. You will create engaging learning opportunities, deliver interactive programs, and support community outreach efforts. This role helps participants build financial knowledge, confidence, and healthy habits through hands-on activities and real-world examples. You will work in a team that encourages curiosity and informed decision-making for diverse audiences.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and manage programs and projects with guidance from leadership.
- Research, design, and develop content for the Money Lab, including games, videos, and worksheets.
- Recommend products and services while providing personalized financial education to members.
- Engage with children and groups during field trips and classroom visits.
- Attend financial literacy and community events to promote the Money Lab.
- Help maintain data and results from lab visits and field trips.
- Ensure accurate processing and follow procedures to maintain operational integrity.
- Participate in department meetings and professional development trainings.
- Adhere to internal controls and credit union policies to manage operational risks.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program, preferably in business or education.
- Prior experience in educating is preferred.
- Ability to commute within surrounding communities.
- Availability to work weekends.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at the 311 Abbot building in East Lansing, Michigan.
- This is a part-time internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- You must be able to work on-site for all scheduled shifts.
