About the role#
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team manages user access across credit union systems and applications. This internship provides hands-on experience with access provisioning, security reviews, and documentation. You will work alongside the IAM team to support daily operations while developing professional competencies.
What you'll do#
- Shadow team members and participate in meetings to learn about IAM operations.
- Assist with routine user access requests and support the on-boarding, transfer, and off-boarding processes.
- Help conduct access exception reports and spot checks to confirm correct access levels.
- Provide data to support security audits and periodic access reviews.
- Create and update documentation, including workflows and procedures.
- Follow internal controls and credit union policies to help safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both individual and group settings.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow documented procedures.
- Ability to work independently with general guidance.
- A demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.
Location & details#
- This position is located in East Lansing, Michigan.
- The role offers a hybrid or on-site work arrangement.
- The internship runs during the Winter and Spring 2027 semesters, beginning January 6th.
- This is a part-time position, scheduled for 15-25 hours per week during business hours.
