About the role#
Invesco is seeking a Quantitative Strategies Research Intern to join the Solutions and Custom Strategies team in New York. This team manages systematic and factor-based investment strategies across equities, fixed income, commodities, and multi-asset portfolios. You will work on research and strategy development to support institutional and retail clients.
What you'll do#
- Develop and improve quantitative and factor-based investment strategies.
- Research tools, techniques, and metrics to provide deeper insight into portfolios and increase value for clients.
- Manage data and analytics to support research functions.
- Assist in the evolution of alpha and portfolio construction strategies.
- Conduct rigorous statistical analysis to support strategy development and ongoing management.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward an advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including experience with optimization techniques.
- Hands-on coding experience in Python, R, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of econometrics and statistics, specifically time-series analysis.
- Familiarity with financial databases like Compustat, Worldscope, or DataStream.
- Experience with risk and optimization tools such as Barra or Axioma.
- A demonstrated record of academic excellence, including high GPAs and standardized test scores.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with researchers, portfolio managers, and client teams.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based in New York, New York.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring at least four days per week in the office.
- The position is offered on a rolling basis.
