About the role#
As a summer intern in the Boston office, you will work with the Portfolio Construction and Engineering team. This group combines quantitative finance, technology, and research to build multi-asset portfolio models and manage risk for public and private assets. You will have the opportunity to engage in quantitative analysis and contribute to the firm's investment research capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with senior team members on quantitative projects.
- Conduct research on strategic and dynamic asset allocation.
- Perform portfolio construction and optimization tasks.
- Develop and maintain risk models for public and private assets.
- Apply technical skills to solve complex investment problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a master’s or PhD program in a quantitative discipline, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics, with plans to return to your studies after the internship.
- Proficiency in Python, including the scientific stack, with exposure to scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- A solid foundation in statistics, probability, and optimization.
- Experience managing large datasets, preferably using SQL.
- A demonstrated interest in finance, economics, and capital markets.
- Familiarity with portfolio concepts like mean-variance optimization, factor models, and risk metrics.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical results clearly.
- Experience with Git, cloud environments like AWS or Azure, and RESTful services is preferred.
- Exposure to JavaScript, Large Language Models, or third-party risk models like BarraOne or Axioma is a plus.
- Progress toward the CFA designation is considered an asset.

- Modality: Hybrid, with expectations to work from the office at least four days per week.

- Compensation: $65.00 per hour.
