About the role#
MSI Mold Builders offers a rolling internship program designed to provide hands-on experience in the Advanced Manufacturing industry. This role allows students to explore career paths while developing technical and interpersonal skills. Interns work on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- High school interns: Assist with electrode mounting, machine set ups, maintenance, and print scanning.
- First-year college students: Train in components and manual machining, including saw cutting and benching.
- Engineering students: Color code wire frame models and gain exposure to manufacturing and machining processes.
- Second-year students: Train on 2D machines and perform detailing work.
- General responsibilities: Follow all company work hours, safety rules, and procedures while maintaining professional relationships with staff and customers.
What you'll need#
- High school students entering their senior year or older.
- College students currently accepted into an approved Advanced Manufacturing program.
- A positive can do attitude and the ability to stay on task.
- Strong communication skills, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
- Parent co-sign required for any intern under the age of 18.

- Location: Cedar Rapids, IA.
- Status: Full-time, paid position at $20 per hour.
