About the role#
Morton Community Bank offers a Summer 2027 internship program designed to provide students with exposure to our lending and credit functions. You will learn how we analyze credit decisions and assess risk for commercial loans across various industries. This is a full-time, paid position based at our office in East Peoria, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Review customer financial statements, tax returns, and loan documents.
- Analyze customer information to draft written credit analysis presentations.
- Present your credit analysis findings to bank management.
- Attend loan-related meetings and discussions to gain insight into the lending process.
What you'll need#
- You must have completed your junior year and have an anticipated graduation date in 2028.
- Pursue a degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a business-related field.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Be detail-oriented and comfortable working in a professional office environment.
- Handle confidential information with trust and discretion.
- Have a genuine interest in living and working in Central Illinois after you graduate.
Location & details#
- This role is located on-site in East Peoria, Illinois.
- The internship runs for approximately 10 weeks, from mid-May to mid-August 2027.
- Compensation is $20.00 per hour for a 40-hour work week.
- There is a possibility of continuing with part-time work during the following school year.
