About the role#
MORSE Corp is looking for a Human Computer Interaction Engineer Co-op to join our team. You will conduct user research, design, prototype, and evaluate systems that support the US National Security Ecosystem. This role focuses on user-centered design for mobile, web, and desktop applications in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and aerospace. You will work on specialized systems designed for military personnel.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design user experiences for mobile, desktop, and web applications.
- Design and develop software applications and implement user interaction designs.
- Conduct user research exercises to gain domain knowledge and evaluate prototypes.
- Design, prototype, and evaluate novel data visualizations.
- Present ideas and concepts to development teams and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- US Citizenship is required. You must be able to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Working towards a BS or BA degree in Information Design, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- Experience conducting user research and understanding of various research methods.
- Working knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, or React.
- Visual design experience and the ability to convey ideas through sketches, prototypes, or design tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $28 to $33 USD per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid co-op.
