The Investment Banking Strats Fall Associate Program is a 12-week, in-person internship based at the firm's headquarters in New York. This role sits within the Investment Banking Division (IBD) Strats Group, focusing on the intersection of financial engineering, mathematical modeling, and computer science. Interns will perform rapid quantitative analysis on capital markets transactions, including M&A, debt and equity issuance, and restructuring, while optimizing complex hedging strategies. The program includes professional development sessions on accounting, industry-specific training, and exposure to proprietary analytical tools, supported by mentors.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain data-driven analytics and financial models to support client strategic needs.
- Analyze transaction data, client behavior, and market activity to assist with M&A, IPO, and capital raising pitches.
- Collaborate with sector coverage, sponsor coverage, and M&A teams to provide differentiated analysis and support client sourcing.
- Develop and maintain business reporting solutions for desk and division leadership.
- Build dashboards and tools for bankers, including pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, and transforming financial datasets, often working alongside engineering teams to ensure system efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Expected degree completion in March 2027.
- Strong interest in financial markets and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent quantitative skills and proficiency in a major programming language, with a working knowledge of Q/KDB, Python, Java, or Scala.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage tasks with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
