About the role#
This internship within the Institutional Equity Division (IED) sits within the Business Unit Risk Management team. You will work alongside attorneys who serve as trading agreement negotiators, gaining experience with relationship-level agreements including equity derivatives, prime brokerage, stock loan, and OTC clearing agreements. The team is responsible for analyzing risk-based client negotiation requests, drafting, and executing agreements prior to trading.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the negotiation of trading agreements, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, and other trading-related contracts.
- Liaise with IED Sales and Trading desks, as well as the firm's Legal, Risk, Credit, and Onboarding teams.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients and their counsel during negotiations.
- Interact with clients regarding new industry rules and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years of law school by the start of the program.
- Intent to sit for the NY Bar exam.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
- Interest in financial services, negotiations, and contract drafting.
- Ability to work in an open trading floor environment.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Fall 2026 (late August/early September to mid-April).
- Modality: On-site in Midtown Manhattan.
- Schedule: 18-20 hours per week, divided across two weekdays.
- Compensation: $35 per hour.
