About the role#
The Operations Manager provides leadership in the coordination of divisional operations, resources, and strategic initiatives for the Office of the VP, Students, International & Infrastructure. You will oversee administrative and financial processes, manage cross-functional projects, and serve as a key liaison to internal and external stakeholders to support institutional goals. This role requires a balance of strategic planning, budget oversight, and relationship management to ensure the division meets its objectives.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate the annual operational budget, monitor expenses, and manage financial processes like purchase orders, invoices, and expense claims.
- Lead complex projects and special initiatives, including tracking progress against strategic business priorities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the college and the Mohawk Students' Association, including organizing monthly meetings and annual student forums.
- Manage administrative support for Athletics & Recreation, including contract creation for coaching staff.
- Oversee student communications by utilizing CRM software, tracking engagement, and coordinating distribution lists.
- Research and prepare grant applications as needed.
- Coordinate Welcome Week volunteer support and manage the division's newsletter and spotlight series.
- Assist with the planning and execution of executive meetings and divisional sessions.
What you'll need#
- A 3-year degree or diploma in Business or Office Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of administrative experience, specifically in operations and budget management.
- Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Office, SCT Banner, Millennium FastSuite, and various CRM platforms.
- Broad knowledge of college programs, policies, and financial processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse students, employees, and community members.
- A demonstrated commitment to human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
