About the role#
MNP is looking for a Summer Student to join the Assurance and Accounting team for the summer of 2027. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information and support to clients. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in areas including compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses while managing multiple files at once.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walkthroughs with clients for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Collect information to prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Draft correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries that outline engagement findings and highlights.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards to your daily work.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are completing the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in an accounting role is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is helpful.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
Location & details#
This position is based on-site in one of the following locations: Brandon, Dauphin, Deloraine-Winchester, Neepawa, Notre Dame de Lourdes, Portage la Prairie, Swan River, or Virden, Manitoba.
