About the role#
MNP is hiring an Assurance and Accounting Intern for the Winter 2028 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. You will work on-site as part of a team that provides financial reporting and advisory services to a variety of clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and businesses, manage multiple files, and conduct inventory counts.
- Handle accounts receivable, accounts payable, and capital asset transactions.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor degree in business administration, commerce, finance, or accounting.
- You are completing the prerequisites required for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is helpful.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is a plus.
