About the role#
MNP is hiring an Assurance and Accounting Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. You will work with our team to provide financial information and advisory services to our clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and capital asset additions.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files at once.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
