About the role#
This internship with the Assurance and Accounting team provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting and client service. You will work alongside professionals to provide financial information that helps clients make informed business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Perform walk-throughs with clients for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and maintain relationships with client contacts.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.

- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour.
