About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Assurance and Accounting team in Timmins. You will work with diverse clients to provide financial information that supports informed decision-making. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses while managing multiple files concurrently.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Perform accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll walkthroughs with clients.
- Assess audit evidence and investigate discrepancies in financial entries or reports.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence regarding engagement findings.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Maintain flexibility to travel as required.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Working toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in an accounting environment is considered an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour.
