About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Technician for an 8-month term from January 2027 to August 2027. You will work with the Assurance and Accounting team to provide financial information and support to clients. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Humboldt.
What you'll do#
- Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax engagements.
- Prepare and maintain government remittances, filings, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and expenses.
- Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Reconcile and monitor general ledger accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, and prepaid expenses.
- Set up client files and assist with budget completion and administrative planning.
- Investigate discrepancies and errors, then work with managers to resolve them.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding assessments and information requests.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and travel as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are working towards an accounting certificate or a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration. Majors in accounting or finance are an asset.
- You have between zero and two years of relevant accounting experience.
- You possess a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes.
- Experience with personal and corporate tax, T4s, T5s, and accounting software is preferred.
