About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accounting Technician for an 8-month term. You will work with our Assurance and Accounting team to provide financial information and support to our clients. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Prince Albert.
What you'll do#
- Assist with compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping, and tax engagements.
- Manage government remittances, filings, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expenses, and payroll transactions.
- Set up client files, help complete budgets, and handle administrative planning.
- Perform month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities.
- Identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and work with managers to resolve them.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding information requests and assessments.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and travel as needed.
What you'll need#
- An accounting certificate or a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration.
- Up to 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience preparing T4s and T5s.
- Knowledge of personal and corporate tax.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes.
