About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for our Assurance and Accounting team in Dartmouth. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a team providing financial reporting and advisory services to our clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walk-throughs for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Collect information to prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss reports.
- Assess the appropriateness of audit evidence for revenues, expenses, and assets.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and presentations to outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain relationships with client contacts.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
