About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for the Assurance and Accounting team in Hanover, Ontario. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site as part of a team that provides financial information to help clients make business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects at once.
- Conduct inventory counts and perform walk-throughs for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital assets.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Establish charts of accounts and prepare journal entries.
- Write technical reports and client summaries to outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and maintain client relationships.
- Suggest improvements to internal work processes.
- Travel as necessary for client engagements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward meeting prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience, customer service background, or familiarity with accounting and tax software are considered assets.
