About the role#
As an Accounting Technician intern, you will join our Assurance and Accounting team in Kenora. You will support our clients by providing financial information that helps them make business decisions. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Assist with bookkeeping, tax engagements, audits, and reviews.
- Manage government remittances, filings, payroll transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, cash, prepaid expenses, and system uploads.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with managers or engagement partners to resolve issues.
- Communicate with the government regarding assessments and information requests.
- Set up client files and assist with administrative planning.
What you'll need#
- An accounting certificate or a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration.
- Up to 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- A working knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience preparing T4s and T5s or knowledge of corporate and personal tax.
- Ability to travel as necessary.

- Compensation: $40,000 to $60,000 annually.
