About the role#
The Commercial Operations Intern supports proposal development, sales support, and commercial process improvements. You will work across teams including Sales, Engineering, Finance, and implementation to help prepare proposals and manage pricing approvals. This role offers hands-on experience in the power generation industry while building skills in business analysis and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Support proposal development for Regional Sales Managers and Product Line Managers.
- Assist with market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and commercial process documentation.
- Coordinate proposal inputs and communications between different departments.
- Help develop deal pricing and prepare for Grants of Authority approval meetings.
- Assist with customer meetings, site visits, shop tours, and presentations.
- Prepare sales and marketing reports and follow up with stakeholders to verify data.
- Support initiatives that simplify commercial processes.
- Manage special assignments and departmental priorities.
- Protect confidential information and comply with safety and ethics requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university program focused on Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Interest in commercial operations, sales support, business analytics, or the power generation industry.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and prepare basic business correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments under short deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based business applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate with employees at all levels.
- Ability to present information in individual or small-group settings.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Exposure to Power BI, CRM software, or reporting tools is preferred.
- Spanish language capability is preferred.
